First Day of School

Notice that Collin is in the floor throwing a temper tantrum. He was not happy because I would not let him wear his Ole Miss belt to school. I thought he would have a hard time goingt to the potty if he had trouble getting his belt undone. Well, as you may have guessed, he won! He wore the belt to school!
Now Collin is wearing a blue shirt. This is because he got toothpaste all over the red one. I could not send him to school like that, so we had to change. Anna is so easy to please. Doesn't she look so cute in her little dress and hairbow?

As I sit here typing this blog, I have began asking myself one simple question, "Where has all the time gone?" It seems like only yesterday we brought Anna home from the hospital and a few month later Collin was being brought home from the hospital. Now they are both in kindergarten. I am a little sad that my babies are growing up, but I know this is all part of being a mommy. Time is so precious and I cherish every moment of it. Anna is writing her name, which totally amazes me. She can also write mom (this makes me feel so cool), pop and dad. I love it. Collin is singing nursery rhymes, memorizing bible verses with Anna and totally in love with going to school. It seems like they are growing more independent, which is bitter sweet. These pictures are of the first day of school.

These pictures were taken on Sunday after church. They were taken downtown in Cleveland on Cotton Row. It is such a beautiful place to exercise, relax, take pictures and of course, shop!

This summer the kids and I were able to go on various day trips with the children's ministry at our church. We went to The Mosaic Shop in Madison, Pump it Up in Memphis, and Rapids on the Resevoir in Jackson. If you can imagine six moms, 9 kids, 9 car seats and a church bus you know we had a blast. Here are a few pics from Pump it Up and Rapids.

A Fairytale Ball and a Few Trips to the ER!

Anna & Collin attended a Fairytale Ball for a friend's birthday. The little girls dressed as mini Cinderella's and the little boys dressed as a prince, a knight or other Disney characters. As you can see Anna was Cinderalla, and a very beautiful Cinderella I might add. Collin went as Sir Stitchalot from the land of Accidents! That is a whole other story, so here it is. About one year ago Collin fell in the bathroom, hit the tub and required four stitches. Two weeks ago he was running through the kitchen trying to catch a cricket. He fell, hit the cabinet and required two STAPLES in his head. Well, on Friday Menee and I went to Tunica shopping. I left Collin and Anna with my mom. As we were leaving Tunica going to Olive Branch to shop a little more, I called my mom to check in. She told me Collin was playing with Zoey (mom's border collie) and Zoey knocked Collin into the brick window. Yes, again he was bleeding. He had hit he corner of his eye! Mom did not know if he needed stitches and I was too far away to get home quckly. Mom brought him to Cleveland to Clint and he decided Collin did not need stitches. Well, being the paranoid mom that I am I took him to the doc on Saturday morning. The doc said he really needed two stitches, but it had been longer than 12 hours since the accident happened. We left there with steri strips, neosporin and a band aid. I have decided I have one rough and tough little boy on my hands! Collin would not let me take more than one picture of him at the party!

The End of the Red Bathroom Era

Only a few of you will appreciate this blog, but I have great news. Yes, finally I have finished my master bathroom and I am oh so very happy with it. I guess I have to start from the beginning for those not familiar with the history of the red bathroom.

When we moved in our house the bathroom was this shade of orange. It was not pretty nor was it decorative. Well, I was pregnant with Collin so I left it alone. The rest of the house was newly painted by the previous owners and I have often wondered why they left this bathroom looking like Halloween. Anyway, last summer I had enough. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a pretty shade of red paint. Keep in mind I do not get the painting skills of my mother and grandmother. I only have the ability to paint cute things for kids on buckets and things. I began my painting hell. After kilzing the bathroom and applying five coats of paint the orange still was as present as ever. Now upset and mad I called Mom and Maribeth for advice. Mom came to help. Again we kilzed the bathroom, got new paint in the shade of "rebel red" and a determined to get the bathroom of my dreams my mom applied many more coats of paint. Finally, mom gave up. Nothing was helping. The bathroom of my dreams was now in my nightmares and looked like a bleeding pumpkin. My friend Fonda came and gave more advice. She also offered to help me fix it when we had time. A semester of school passed and we decided to fix the bathroom during spring break. Well, spring break came and went and my bathroom was still red and orange with blue painters tape around the trim. Horrible I say,Horrible!! The paint was peeling off, bubbling and terrifying all who dared to enter. Then plans were made to fix the bathroom this summer. We were going to "paper bag" my bathroom. I was terrified of this idea too. Fonda assured me she had done this several times and it would be great. What you do is get brown craft paper, rip it into pieces, paint Elmer's glue onto the back with a sponge brush and glue to the wall. Well, my ever faithful friend Fonda came over yesterday and while the kids played we created a wonderful bathroom. I still have to find a new mirror and a curtain, but I am so excited and I wanted to share my bathroom with you. The pictures do not do it justice. I just love my new master bathroom and so do Clint and the kids. Thank you Fonda. I am so proud of what we accomplished. We are a great team. I will miss you so much at RCES this year. I do not know who will sneak in my snacks and I just thought I will not have a microwave at school! Yes, I will honestly miss you!!

Just Hanging Out with Mom

Hangin upside down and turning flips is one of Anna's most favorite things to do.
Collin riding on the Frog.

Uncle DJ gave Collin his first golf hat as Collin likes to call it. He was getting ready to head to the golf course.

Rub a Dub Dub, Can You Find Collin in the Tub??

As many of you know my favorite thing about my house is my jacuzzi tub. I totally love it. Well, Collin does too. One night during a routine bubble bath, Collin decided to turn on the jets. As you can guess a bubble bath can get out of hand quick when the jets hit it.

This year was my first year to not be in graduate school since I have had children. I decided I would volunteer at VBS at our church (First Baptist Church in Cleveland). The great part was that since I volunteered, Anna and Collin were able to participate too. We all had a great time. The theme was Game Day Central.
